The work is devoted to theoretical and experimental research of problem in formation of motivation to contemporary piano music studying during the professional training of future teachers. The condition of its disclosure is in the theory and methodology of teacher's professional training. The meaning of "learning motivation", "modern piano music" is clarified, component motivation structure is specified, scientific and methodical foundations are disclosed. It is revealed the art and aesthetic significance of contemporary piano music based on a holistic genre and style analysis and its positive effect on motivation development of future music teacher to study contemporary repertoire is proved.
