The thesis is dedicated to determination the ecological and economic principles of the usage of Kyiv Polissya region radioactively contaminated agricultural land. Ecological and economic characteristics of agricultural production on radioactively contaminated areas of Kyiv Polissya after the Chernobyl accident have been clarified. A significant change in the specialization of agricultural production, both in the crop and in the livestock sectors have been identified. It was found that among the measures aimed at preventing the intake of radionuclides in agricultural products originating in the second and third zones of radioactive contamination, the most effective are the choice of specialization in production with a complex of the ecological, economic and social factors, the selection of crops with low radionuclides accumulation levels and balanced application of organic and mineral fertilizers high doses. Is shown that in the structure of the agricultural lands radioactively contaminated territories hayfields and pastures, which are radiationally critical occupy a considerable share. The uneven development of the agricultural land use in the Kiev Polissya leads to deterioration of the socio-economic conditions and a reduction in the population, especially in rural areas. It was determined that the level of profitability of agricultural enterprises depends on the level of soil contamination with radionuclides, ie, there is a clear downward trend in the level of profitability with an increase in the level of radioactive contamination.
