Essay

Object - resistibility of the southern black soil surface to deflation underdifferent tillage systems. Purpose - to evaluate the effect of different soil tillage systems and no-till on anti-deflationary efficiency of cultivated land of the Left-Bank Steppe in southern Ukraine. Methods - field, laboratory, computational and comparative, statistics. Theoretical results - based on parameterization and ascertainable regularities of incidents of erosion processes depending on climatic factors, physical properties of soil, tillagesystems and no-till,we performedthe analysis of their effect on anti-deflationary resistance ofthe southern black soil surface. We investigated the change in potential energy of the southern black soil under the conventional and minimum tillage and no-till. We calculated the ecological -and energetic efficiency coefficient of these techniques that reflects a correlation between the main product yield energy and the anthropogenic energy expended to cultivate specific crops. Practical results - evaluation of soil protective efficiency of tillage systems and no-till under conditions of incidents of deflation processes in the southern black soil was performed;regularities in transformation of anti-deflationary resistance, projective cover degree and soil surface stiffness were identified. The findings and materials obtained were recommended for manufacturing application to ensure efficient soil protection against deflation. Novelty - transformationofcrumbly conditionof soil prepared under different tillage systems and no-till was determined; the soil protective efficiency of tillage systems andno-till, in particular, due to change in projective cover degreeandstiffnessduring a deflationary dangerous period was assessed; the anti-deflationary efficiency of tillage systems and no-till was evaluated; the forecast of the further development of deflation danger in the abovementioned region for the near future was made; the ecological -and energetic efficiency ofagricultural crops production technologies with an allowance for changes in soil potential energy was evaluated. Degree of application - the findings of this research work were introduced into production by 'ASKANIISKE'State-Owned Enterprise of'ASKANIISKE' State Pilot Farm at the Institute of Irrigated Agriculture of the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Kakhovsky District, Kherson Oblast, on the areaof 2,400.00ha as well as by'Kyian' FarmingEnterprise in Chaplynsky District, Kherson Oblast, on the area of 1,500.00 ha. The field is agriculture.
