The thesis is devoted to the problems of security of credit activities at banks. The author researched scientific and methodological principles of credit activity and of bank security. The author has proved dominance of social and economic interests of subjects of credit activity and defined influence on its activity. The author has researched the concept of threat as the main element of the conceptual definitions of security and banks' operating practices and threats of credit activities. Credit activity of the banks has been analyzed and its modern characteristics have been defined. Security of credit activities of banks has been analyzed and the problem of its provision has been formulated. The author thought out the system of provision security to credit activity directed at protecting interests of each subject of that activity. The author has recommended some ways of improving the legal framework of security of credit activities. New approaches to the organization of bank activity with bad debts depending on the period of overdue payments have been offered.
