Chetverikov B. Methods of processing of aerospace and cartographic material for mappingobjects of historical environment

Theoretical foundations and possible applications of space imaging systems of high and ultrahigh spatial resolution for historical environment objects mapping are considered in the work. The analysis of methods of historical objects studying on the basis of archival cartographic materials and remote sensing data is implemented. This has allowed to formulate a list of the main tasks that are risen for the mapping of historical objects of cultural heritage. It is proved on the basis of experimental studies of mathematical models of geometric correction of images with ultrahigh spatial resolution that the best indicators of RMSE we obtain on mathematical models of RPC and DLT. Model of projective transformation RPC and model DLT are recommended for geometric correction of images obtained from the satellite GeoEye-1 and Quick Bird. The analysis of historical boundaries of BabiyYar and adjacent Karaim, Muslim, Christian and Jewish cemeteries that existed from 1924 to 1969 was done on the base of archival aerial and cartographical data. The technique of creation of historical situational maps based on a combination of interpretive possibilities of archival aerial photographs and written eyewitness of historical events was proposed. The technique of automatic determination of the destruction of historically significant buildings within the urban territory as a result of the disaster was proposed and described
