Object - the process of senior pupils' heuristic education in a comprehensive educational institution; the aim is to determine the influence of theoretically grounded and experimentally tested pedagogical conditions on the formation of senior pupils' cognitive self-dependence in heuristic education; methods - theoretical, empirical, mathematical processing; novelty - at the first time: the peculiarities of the formation of senior pupils' cognitive self-dependence in heuristic education are identified; basic pedagogical conditions for the formation of senior pupils' cognitive self-dependence in heuristic education are theoretically grounded; didactic possibilities of heuristic teaching Humanities for the formation of senior pupils' cognitive self-dependence are clarified; levels, criteria and indicators of the formation of senior pupils' cognitive self-dependence in the process of studying Humanities got the further development; results - the pedagogical conditions of the formation of senior pupils' cognitive self-dependence in heuristic education are experimentally tested and can be applied in the process of the pedagogical practice, the scientific-research activity of students of humanitarian specialties and teachers' activity in comprehensive educational institutions. Theoretical principles, practical developments, outlined in the dissertation, can be used in the professional training of future teachers in higher educational institutions of III - IV accreditation levels; in the system of teachers' retraining; in postgraduate pedagogical education; for the creation of educational and training-methodical manuals for students and teachers; during the preparation of the course and degree works; field - pedagogy.
