Object - occasional units documented in poetic texts of V. Goloborodko, T. Melnychuk and S. Sapelyak; aim - to find and describe the structural and semantic specificity and features of occasionalism functioning in poetic texts of V. Goloborodko, T. Melnychuk and S. Sapelyak; to trace the representative properties of innovations in the writers' idiostyles; methods - methods of observation and comparison, the method of component analysis with a comparative element, the deductive method, the descriptive method, the inductive method with the elements of the synthesis method and contextual analysis, the method of statistical analysis, the method of quantitative calculations; novelty - the first time in Ukrainian linguistics the essence of macro- and microneologization of innovations as a conceptual linguistic category has been grounded, the position of occasionalisms in the dichotomy "language - speech" and in the system of innovative phenomena in general has been revealed, the feasibility of using the opposition "occasionalism - canonical word" has been proved, according to the poetic texts of V. Goloborodko, T. Melnychuk and S. Sapelyak using occasionalisms it has been traced out the mechanisms of form-, content- and semanticforming, structural and semantic features of neoleksem have been described, functional specificity of occasionalisms has been analyzed and key directions of realizing their stylistic potential in writers' poetry idiostyles have been marked out; the essence of the occasionality phenomenon in the paradigm of innovation processes and its position in the modern Ukrainian language have been determined; theoretical bases of linguistic study of occasionalisms in poetic texts as a component of writer's idiostyle have been defined;a comparative analysis of structural and semantic features of occasional units in the works of V. Goloborodko, T. Melnychuk and S. Sapelyak has been performed; the specificity of the author derivative process and its effects at the level of some word formative types and models, motivational relations, formal and content indicators have been found out; the mechanisms of structural and semantic shifts and the degree of their impact on the interpretation and functional parameters of neolexems have been described; the role of innovation in forming and representing the poetic idiostyles of V. Goloborodko, T. Melnychuk and S. Sapelyak has been defined; the guide of occasionalisms in poetries of V. Goloborodko, T. Melnychuk and S. Sapelyak has been compiled; results - factual material, the main provisions and conclusions of the dissertation can be used in lexicographic practice, as well as in the educational process - in teaching courses on lexicology, morphemics, word formation , syntaxes and stylistics and also special courses on problems of terminology, poetry, idiostylistics, lexicology and derivative neology and occasionalistics; field - linguistics
