The paper analyzes theoretical approaches to the study of the emotional intelligence phenomenon and feelings of loneliness. Loneliness experience peculiarities and gender specificity of its types in adolescence was empirically identified. Emotional intelligence structure, development levels, its dynamics and manifestation specificity, gender differences were discovered. The inverse interrelation between the level of emotional intelligence and intensity of loneliness feelings in adolescence was established.
