Essay

The purpose of the study is to identify the main trends and principles of architectural design of the multifunctional bridges. The object of the research is multifunctional bridge. Subject of the research arethe architectural and planning trends and principles of the multifunctional bridges. Methods: work was carried out using the methods of comprehensive analysis and systematization of scientific, methodological and illustrative literature related to the research topic;comparative analysis of architectural, planning, functional and aesthetic qualities of the multifunctional bridges; logic simulation to determine the influence of factors, patterns, trends and principles; synthesis of the most effective solutions.Scientific innovation: scientifically proven architectural design of multifunctional bridges in large and major cities; we summarized the existing theoretical base of the architectural design of the multifunctional bridges as the elements of the architectural and planning structure of the city; the multifunctional bridges typology was developed according to their length, function, urban value, planning organization and spatial unity of different blocks; the main principles of functional and planning organization of the multifunctional bridges were formulated:the principle of separation of zones of transit and local traffic by different levels, the principle of grouping of service facilities according to their visit intensity; the principle of minimizing pedestrian approaches from service units to the main functional points of the multifunctional bridge structure; we offered the means of spatial solutions of the multifunctional bridge structures based on the environment, function and constructions.Results of the study are embedded in the educational process of training of architects.
