Essay

The subject of this research is wholesale and retail food market complexes at different hierarchical levels. This study highlights the architecture and town-planning principles of the formation of wholesale and retail food market complexes. Research methods are systematic analysis of field examination, literature, domestic and foreign practices of design, construction and operation associated with the formation of the research objective. In the thesis are three groups of methods. The first is the common method that contains empirical research methods. The second group is the special scientific method applied to both the empirical and theoretical level of the study. The third group contains special methods that are used on the level of theoretical research. On the basis of rational calculations, it was first proposed to determine the location and size of wholesale and retail food market complexes by their number and optimal placement in the infrastructure of the region. Variants of structural-functional models of the food market complexes at different urban levels, the principles and the algorithm of architectural and urban formation of wholesale and retail food market complexes were developed. The composition of the main functional area was supplemented. Classification was specified and hierarchical levels of wholesale and retail food market complexes was defined. Macrosystem factors, which affect the location and formation of wholesale and retail food market complexes, were identified.
