Merlich S. Medical and psychological support for cancer patients with colostoma on outpatient treatment

As a result of socio-demographic, clinical, psychological and psychodiagnostic examination of 311 cancer patients who underwent surgery with intestinal stoma formation, it is studied the disfunctions in psycho-emotional, personal, and psychosocial level of functioning, based on which developed and introduced into clinical practice complex activities of medical and psychological support aimed at providing qualified multidisciplinary follow-up to the patient and his family for outpatient treatment, whose effectiveness is proved on the basis of evidence-based medicine. The purpose of medical and psychological support of a patient with colostoma to outpatient treatment was identified: the implementation of a comprehensive approach to medical and psychological support, taking into account the physical, psychological and social factors; psycho-emotional support for the patient and his family; quality of life of patients and their families; creating a psychological comfort, atmosphere of respect and support for cancer patients. The complex of psychocorrectional activities included work of a multidisciplinary team with cancer patient and his family. The ways of psychcorrection system in the field of integrated support to oncopathology patients were psychoeducation, visiting groups of existential experience, RET-therapy, support with the help of e-health technologies.
