Essay

Object: the life-world of the personality, who practice an Eastern spiritual practices in polycultural society. Purpose: conceptualization of Eastern spiritual practices as the phenomenon of the life-world of the personality in polycultural society. Research methods: comparative-historical, interdisciplinary, tipologization, analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, abstraction, life-history tactics, narrative interview. Theoretical and practical results: conceptualization of Eastern spiritual practices as the phenomenon of a life-world of the personality in categories of phenomenological and sociocultural approaches was carried out, the concepts "biographically determined situation of appeal to an Eastern spiritual practices", "finite province of meaning of an Eastern spiritual practices", "motivational contexts of appeal to an Eastern spiritual practices", "'because' motives of appeals to an Eastern spiritual practices", "in-order-to motive of appeals to an Eastern spiritual practices" were introduced for scientific use; possibilities of sociological interpretation of the Bakhtin's concept of "real world of life" are proved; empirically reasonable typology which includes seven ideal-typical motivational contexts of appeal to an Eastern spiritual practices in polycultural society: existential, teleologic, crisis, cognitive, valeological, presentation and transpersonal, was developed on the basis of the analysis of narrative interviews; the definition of Eastern spiritual practices, proceeding from sociocultural approach was offered. Novelty: conceptualization of Eastern spiritual practices as the phenomenon of the life-world of the personality in polycultural society. Extent of introduction: provisions of the thesis promoted development and improvement of such training courses as "History of classical sociology" for students of 1 course, "The newest sociological theories" and "Sociology of Globalization" for students of the 5th course, and also have found application "Sociology of Culture" which is taught on the 3rd course of sociological faculty of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University is aware.
