Lukomska H. Formation of architectural and planning solutions of Spa-centers

The object of the study is Spa-center or multifunctional complex, which includes Spa-area. The purpose of the study is to determine the foundations of Spa-architecture and to develop recommendations for its architectural and planning organization. Author use scientific methods which include realization of research tasks in three stages: a) experimental, which includes comparing of graphic materials from different time periods; b)factor-analysis of Spa planning structure; c) summarizing the results of research by building models of Spa architectural and planning structure and by giving recommendations concerning its design. The author first considered "Spa-center" as multifunctional complex; introduced terminology database relating Spa-architecture; developed a "basic module" of Spa-functional structure; developed requirements for its design; made classification of Spa-centers in a number of typological features. Results of the study can be used while creating projects for the development of recreational tourism industry of Ukraine, during designing suburban Spa-centers and multifunctional public buildings, which includes Spa-area, as well as to adapt existing valuable architectural monuments and historic buildings to Spa-function.
