The thesis is devoted to the study of the process of neologization in socio-political vocabulary in the Czech language in the 90s of the 20th – at the beginning of the 21st century. The theoretical approaches of the study of neologisms in modern linguistics were analysed, innovation processes in the Czech social and political vocabulary were studied, the main ways of creating of new socio-political lexemes and transformations in the semantic structure of words were defined. The research is also focused on functioning of neologisms in the modern Czech media, particularly in texts of the Czech national corpus.
