The thesis is devoted to the issue of the development of high schoolstudents' skills to perform approximate calculations in the study of mathematics. On the basis of the proposed structure of the content line "Approximate calculation" in high school, methodical system of formation and development of high school students' skills to perform approximate calculations has been developed and theoretically substantiated in the paper, namely the objectives and content, totality of organizational forms, methods and means according to each topic of Algebra and Precalculus course in 10 - 11 grades, Stereometry course; methodical guidelines for the formation and development of high school students' skills to perform approximate calculations in the study of mathematics have been developed.
