The dissertation deals with the research of formation and development peculiarities of the criminal law of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, its institutions and rules applied on the Ukrainian lands in XIV–XVI centuries. Sources of criminal law of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, effective on the Ukrainian lands of that period, are characterized. Legal bases of criminal liability of ethnoreligious communities of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania are highlighted. The features of Lithuanian criminal law norms application in the practice of Ukrainian courts in XIV–XVI centuries are founded. The concept of crime and the principles of criminal law, that operated on the Ukrainian lands in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, are analyzed. The purpose and system of punishments, applied on the Ukrainian lands under criminal law of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, are regarded. The features of certain types of crimes on the Ukrainian lands of the mentioned period in the history of law are outlined.
