Essay

The research exposes the problem of identity in its correlation with the issues of the Ukrainian past and Globalization challenges in the artistic worlds of the cited novels. Thus, the first chapter "General Theoretical and Literary Aspects of the Problem of Self-Identification" presents main historiosophical theories and interpretations of the specified notions. It provides a general understanding of the process of self-identification by investigating psychological, philosophical, sociological and anthropological discourses. By its nature the idea of self-identification requires interdisciplinary examination. The researcher extrapolates on this issue of the literary works through the concepts of "historical memory", "national memory" and the key conceptual idea of archetypes. The reasoning of the choice of methodological base of the investigation is given in this chapter as well.
