Baranova Y. City government in Ukraine

The thesis is dedicated to the complex research of city government in Ukraine and development using the results of proposals for further improvement of the constitutional and legal regulation of municipal government. Provided the definition of municipal government as guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of Ukraine the right and real ability territorial community independently and under its own responsibility to decide directly or through representative and other bodies of local self-government local issues within the law and in the interests of the local community, analyzed the composition and structure of the city territorial community as a social community consisting of people who live together in the city, united by a common interest, which by its internal qualities different from other local communities and acts in the political, socio-economic, cultural and domestic spheres.
