Essay

There were performed examinations of 550 epilepsy patients including 345 patients with comorbid hypertension and coronary artery disease. The role of comorbid cardiovascular disease was found in all comorbid pathology of epilepsy. There was proved that the comorbid epilepsy, hypertension and coronary heart disease increased number of seizures, complaints, worsening neurological data, bioelectrical indicators, structural and functional parameters of the heart and blood vessels, enhance the processes of peroxidation, depletion of antioxidant systems and the development of oxidative stress. There were grounded pathogenetical adjunctive treatment of epilepsy patients with comorbid hypertension and coronary heart disease and proved its effectiveness.
