Shcherbii N. The Category of Reflexive Verbs in the Polish Language

Object: verbs with reflexive component si?, which signify the semantic of reflexivity. Objective: systematic and comprehensive analysis of functional and semantic features of reflexive verbs in modern Polish language with possible involvement of relevant information from Ukrainian. Methods: descriptive, contrastive and typological; transformational analysis; componential analysis, and statistical calculations. Scientific novelty: a complex analysis of the category of reflexive verbs in Polish was carried out for the first time; the semantic classification of reflexive verbs was improved; the functional and semantic features of reflexivity and reciprocity were described based on research on category of voice in Slavic languages. Practical value: possibility to be used in lecture courses on theoretical grammar, semantic syntax, lexicology, theory and practice of translation, for practical study of Polish as a foreign language, and also for compiling respective textbooks and for lexicographical practice.
