Ossovskyy O. Substantiation and efficiency assessment of video-assisted laparoscopic methods for treating patients with acute appendicitis (clinical experimental research)

The thesis is devoted to defining the optimal methods of laparoscopic appendectomy for patients with acute appendicitis. The experimental part of the thesis (28 laboratory rabbits) provides advantages of classical formation of appendiceal stump (following appendectomy) using 2 ligatures in comparison with the method of applying 2 tantalum clips. Using the results of laparoscopic appendectomy for 523 patients, it is shown that the two-port appendectomy method including the proposed variant of placement and size of trocars, the way of treating the appendiceal stump, as well as the method for removing the stump through the laparoscopic trocar, are considered to be better immediate and long-term results compared to three- and single-port methods and have the highest priority. The three-port method, in turn, provides better results (high priority) than the single-port method (low priority).
