The thesis is devoted to the actual problem of formation of communicative activity of students of higher educational institutions. The didactic conditions of formation of communicative activity of the future foreign language teachers that provide an activity component of communicative competence, the process of effective implementation and mastering of communicative activity in specific situations of communication, depending on the individual characteristics of its participants are defined and theoretically grounded.The concept of "means of communicative activities" is introduced to describe the process of learning of the future foreign language teachers, their structure, types, levels of formation are developed. The structural-functional model of communication of future foreign language teachers in the study of philological disciplines is developed and tested.
