Essay

Object - the reflection of the soil surface to sunlight with different spectral characteristics. Purpose - assess the condition of the main soil types of Right Bank Ukraine Steppe with using multispectral satellite scanning methods. Methods - field method, laboratory method, correlation and regression analysis. Theoretical results - theoretically substantiated the relationships between indicators of the spectral brightness of satellite images in different bands and individual quality indicators of soil and are designed on this basis the mathematical models that allow to monitor content of humus, the dynamics of its changes, the presence of exchangeable sodium, the degree of soil cover erosion transformation. Practical results - the obtained data provide the possibility of quantifying evaluation of soil properties during large-scale soil survey to identify degradation processes (secondary alkalinity, dehumification, erosion) and allow for remotely define types (subtypes) of Right Bank Steppe soils for later mapping. Novelty - the first time the quantitative characteristics of the "soil lines" for the main types (subtypes) of right-bank steppe soils of Ukraine, built spectral curves for the main types (subtypes) of soils of right-bank Steppe of Ukraine; are designed a fundamentally new mathematical models which describing the relationship between the spectral brightness of multispectral satellite images of soils of right-bank steppe of Ukraine and soil properties such as the content of humus and absorbed Na in soil absorbing complex; are designed modern methodical approaches of using multispectral satellite images for classification of the southern chernozem and ordinary chernozem by the degree of erosion transformation; are improved methodological approaches of using multispectral satellite images to determine the dynamics of humus content; a comparative analysis of spectral curves of irrigated and non-irrigated southern chernozems. Degree of application - results of the work inculcationed into the production in the conditions of private company "Land cadastre Center" of Domanivsky district of Mykolayiv region on the area of 112 hectares and Mikolayiv branch of state institution "Ukrainian Institute of soil protection" Veselinovsky, Voznesensky and Domanivsky districts of Mykolayiv region on the area of 12.6 thousand hectares. The field is agriculture.
