Essay

The paper is concerned with the research of an important issue of modern pediatrics, - the diagnosis and prediction of outcome of perinatal hypoxic-ischemic lesions of the central nervous system in infants. There were identified risk factors leading further morbidity and disability in children who have suffered hypoxic-ischemic lesions of the central nervous system. Established and specified frequency and nature long-term effects (clinical signs, neurosonography signs) in this pathology. Scientifically grounded assessment of complex dynamic motor and neuro-psychological development of infants. Proved the role of trace elements (cobalt, nickel, lead) in the formation of long-term effects of perinatal hypoxic-ischemic lesions of the CNS. For pregnant women which born children with hypoxia was typical significant imbalance of trace elements in serum (elevated levels of lead and nickel with cobalt deficiency) and erythrocytes (significant predominance of cobalt and nickel). In newborn babies with perinatal hypoxic-ischemic damage of CNS we saw serumal-erythrocytic imbalance due to accumulation of cobalt in erythrocytes and nickel in serum and increasing of serum and erythrocyte concentrations of lead. We developed and introduced into practice a prognostic algorithm of formation of cerebral palsy in infants which suffered perinatal hypoxic-ischemic lesions of central nervous system.
