Notion and essence of custody and guardianship are explored, principles of custody and guardianship are formulated. On the basis of analysis of the institute of custody and guardianship, its object is defined. Correlation of the legal adjusting of relations of custody and guardianship by the norms of civil and family law in the aspect of national and international legislation is explored. Foreign experience of the legal adjusting of relations of custody and guardianship is analyzed. The features of legal position of bodies of custody and guardianship are defined; their plenary powers on the current law of Ukraine are explored.
