Andrievska J. Privacy as a sociocultural phenomenon

The dissertation presents a comprehensive sociological analysis of the phenomenon of privacy. There was determinated the essence of the phenomenon, historical genesis and factors of institutionalization, described the form and functions, defined peculiarities of privacy in the socialization process, outlined the concept of limits of privacy, described manifestations of privacy on the macro level of the state, its institutions and culture. There was characterized the modern phase of the deployment of privacy in the individualized society, within the virtual space and the background of the depreciation of the public space. Based on the particular manifestations of privacy within the virtual space, there was defined further perspectives of its transformation and interaction with the publicy.
