Didun L. Phrasemes with semantics of intensity in modern Ukrainian literary language.

The general principles of the category of intensity is established. Intensity is defined as a semantic category, which value is the quantitative characterization of a certain quality. Intensity as a component of semantic structure of phraseological units is considered. It belongs to the connotative aspects of idiomatic meaning. Ways and means to detect semantics of intensity in phrasemes of the Ukrainian language is defined. Selection of phrasemes is based on a number of indicators of intensity in units definition. The role of phrasemes with semantics of intensity is defined in 18 communication. Using phraseological unit with semantics of intensity makes it possible to convey information to the recipient with all shades of meanings. Thematic classification of phrasemes with semantics of intensity is made. Thematic groups «Man», «Abstract relations and concepts», «Time and Space» is distinguished and determined their structure. Classification of phraseological material presents a hierarchical structure: phraseosemantic group > phraseosemantic field>phr aseothematic subgroup> phraseothematic group. Participation semes of prototype com ponents of phraseological unit is traced in the formation process in the semantics of intensity. The basic areas of human existence, various characteristics that appear in the mind, processes, events, conditions, actions to be intensifying is described.
