Essay

Dissertation is devoted to the theoretical and systematic experimental study of psychological and social factors of development of the ethnic identity in adolescence. There is a profound analysis of theoretical foundations to the study of the ethnic self-awareness. The theoretical model of psychological and social factors of the development in adolescence has been presented. The study clarified a range of aspects of self-awareness, which are: its structural components, the criteria of emotional attitude to oneself and others as subjects of a certain ethnicity, the awareness of oneself and others as subjects of the ethnic development, and the implementation of one's ethnicity in behavioral manifestations of everyday life. Among the other aspects of the ethnic self-awareness there are also performance markers, the levels of its manifestation and the dynamic factors of psychological and social development of the ethnic self-awareness in adolescence. The study provided a verified and an effective model of psychological guidance aimed at the development of the ethnic self-awareness in adolescence. There has been suggested a system of psychological and pedagogical recommendations for its effective implementation within a university setting.
