Essay

The dissertation is dedicated to increasing the effectiveness of diagnosis and treatment in men with essential hypertension by studying early changes of arterial stiffness at patients with the first and second stages of the disease and moderate to high cardiovascular risk. There were proved the expediency of the individual assessment of pulse wave velocity according to age and blood pressure level to detect the early vascular aging. There were established significant differences at relationship of parameters of blood pressure monitoring, the structural and functional condition of the heart with the characteristics of the arterial wall stiffness in hypertensive patients depending on the EH stage and the category of cardiovascular risk. It demonstrates ability of the combined antihypertensive therapy (RAAS blockers in combination with calcium channel blockers and/or diuretics) to make a positive effect on the reversal of pathological changes in the elastic properties of the arterial wall in patients with essential hypertension stage II.
