Essay

The thesis is dedicated to investigation of linguopoetic peculiarities of Latin poets in early modern Ukraine at the beginning of XVII and the end of XVIII century. It is for the first time in classical studies the Latin original texts of Ukrainian poets are examined through theoretical and methodological principles of modern linguopoetics and theory of narrative types. Linguopoetic analysis investigates the elements of language organization on the bases of aesthetic ideal and contain linguistic, stylistic and literary analysis. Mental space of a Latin poet in Ukraine at the beginning of XVII century and the end of XVIII century is marked by correlation of opposite orientations: the spiritual and secular, Latin and Ukraine, ancient and Christian. This division is represented through the main baroque principle of antithesis. The Latin poetic texts of early modern Ukraine at the beginning of XVII and the end of XVIII century are in the author manuscript poetic and rhetoric courses, based on the Italian and Polish patterns. The main genres of Latin poetry in Ukraine are elegy, panaegyrics and lyric poem. The "artificial" nature of the poetry is caused by a number of factors: 1) Latin was not a mother tongue for Ukrainian poets, but was sufficient in education system of Europe; 2) a large number of poems were written for the didactic purposes; 3) imitating classical poetry patterns the authors lost their individuality. Latin language of Ukrainian poetry preserved the lexical, grammatical and syntactical features of Classical Latin, representing the aesthetical principles of baroque in its stylistics. The theory of literary genres in original manuscripts ("Fons Castalius" (1685 р.), "Cunae Bethleemicae" (1686-1687 рр.), "Camoena in Parnasso" (1689 р.), "Cytheron bivertex" (1694-1695 рр.), "Rosa inter spinas" (1696-1697 рр.), "De arte po?tica libri III" (1705 р.), "Cedrus Apollinis" (1702 p.), "Idea artis po?seos" (1707 р.), "Lyra Heliconis" (1709 р.), "Leo Roxolanus" (1719 р.), "Parnassus" (1719 р.), "Praecepta de arte po?tica" (1735 р.), "Hortus po?ticus" (1736 р.) contains specific features of baroque aesthetics - symbolique, emblematic and curious poetry. Innovations of baroque aesthetic system are present at three levels: lexical (the usage of miphologisms, confessionalisms and toponymes); syntactical (parallelism and antithesis); stylistical (amplification, phonetical and morphological repetitions).
