This dissertation is a philosophical in-depth study of the problem of functioning of sacral practices under the context of social-cultural potential of pilgrimage and tourism. The researche determines gobalisation principles of values of culture and technologies of modern pilgrimage and tourism. He characterizes ethic, aesthetic, ideological and mythological determinants of transformation of modern cultural practices. He gives the analysis of pilgrimage and cultural tourism modernisation. Alternative modernization models are reconstructed in the context of metacultural problems.
