The thesis is devoted to development and improvement of theoretical provisions, methodological approaches and practical recommendations for the management of capital adequacy of insurance companies in Ukraine. The concept of capital adequacy of the insurance company was improved. Theoretical preconditions of capital adequacy management of insurance companies were determined. The approaches to evaluating capital adequacy of insurance companies were clarified. The theoretical foundations of formation the system of capital adequacy of insurance companies were developed. The need of the insurance market in raising the capital adequacy and the efficiency of capital adequacy management of insurance companies in Ukraine were defined. The practices of management of capital formation of insurance companies in Ukraine were analyzed. The impact of risk management on capital adequacy of insurance companies was determined. The choice of priority risk management techniques for ensuring capital adequacy of insurance companies was proved. The methodological support of forecasting the capital adequacy of insurance companies was improved. The methodical approach to the formation the structure of insurance portfolio through reinsurance operations for ensuring the capital adequacy of insurance companies was developed. The methodical approach to the formation the optimal capital structure of insurers for managing capital adequacy was developed.
