Essay

The thesis is devoted to solution of actual scientific task and substantiation of parameters to increase efficiency of the pneumatic separation of peat in the curvilinear zig-zag flow by setting dependence of parameters of separation characteristics such as size separation and medium probabilistic deviation from the coefficient of variation of speed in the flow separator, that helps to determine the rational parameters of "Zig-zag" pneumatic separator for peat separation. Enrichment of peat with high ash-content was proposed to perform by removing its small class with high ash-content and using pneumatic separation. It was proposed to use variation coefficient of vertical component of velocity of the flow in the working volume of "Zig-zag" pneumatic separator as parameter of irregularity of the velocity field. Based on numerical modeling our dependence between the parameters of separation characteristics and irregularity of the velocity field was obtained and allowed us to improve the design of the "Zig-zag" pneumatic separator. Research results were implemented at the Manevitskiy Peat Production Plant of the State Enterprise "Volyntorf." Expected economic benefit for above technology implementation with capacity 15.8 thousand tons per year is 793.5 thousand UAH per year.
