Dissertation is devoted to the study of child's identity development in the conditions of foster family, and the risks for its formation in the situation of substandard influences. The features of the foster children self-awareness mechanisms as a result of family environment changing are researched. The indicators of identity standard development in childhood (from the birth up to 12 years) are distinguished, the risks concerning the child's identity development in the conditions of foster family are described, and the psychological conditions for the foster child's identity optimal development are detected. In the work an importance of significant adult is grounded, which is an integrating person for the foster child's previous life experience processing. It is proved, that the foster children identity development does not contradict with standard development indicators, but may have other setting's directions and behavior displays. These features are connected with psychological traumas, which foster child has got in the previous family environment.
