Zhygun T. Formal-functional parameters of interfixes in Contemporary Ukrainian.

The thesis deals with the complex analysis of interfixes in modern Ukrainian. The main theoretical approaches to definition of interfixes have been analyzed, the system description of interfixes taking into account their paradigmatic connection with the Ukrainian morphemes and on the basis of judgment of a morpheme as a unit not identical with a word-formation formant, and therefore having own distinctive features: morphemic function, system value and the phonemic organization is offered. The analysis of the interfixal and noninterfixal structures has shown that their quantitative ratio is unequal in adjectives with different suffixes: -ив- - 92,4%, -ен'к- - 37,2%, -ан- - 16,7%; -аст- - 16,7%; -н-/-н'- - 14,8%; -ат- - 13,5%; -с'к- - 12,4%, -ач- - 11%; -ав- - 6,2%; -уват- - 5,1 %, -к- - 2,9%. Taking into account quantitative characteristics, the inventory of interfixes in morphemic structures of words with common root is established, their regularity and productivity is determined. The structural-phonemic types of interfixes are described according to parameters of length, combinability of vowels and consonants, formal variability; phonemic similarity of standard two-phonemic (and some one-phonemic) intermorphs with other morphs of the corresponding suffixal morphemes is revealed. The tendency when one-phonemic consonant interfixes seek to acquire standard two-phonemic structure is studied.
