The object of the research: processes of formation and realization of the strategic potential of machine-building enterprises; the aim of the research: to development a theory, as well as form methodical and practical recommendations on formation and realization of strategic potential of an enterprise; research methodology and apparatus: methods of analysis and synthesis, comparison, formalization, economic and financial analysis, clustering and taxonomic analysis, morphological analysis, analytic hierarchy process, expert evaluation, web analysis, benchmarking; theoretical and practical results: the methodical approach to formation and realization of strategic potential of enterprise, which allocates the processes of formation and realization and combines them from the point of development, accumulation and effective use of organizational knowledge, experience and skills taking into account interests-benefits of stakeholders; methodical support of formation and realization of strategic potential analysis, the difference of which is to determine criteria for the development and realization of strategic potential basing on general indicators of its functional components; methodical approach of assessment of the development and realization of strategic potential of an enterprise, which defines objects-components for assessment (strategy development and implementation, personnel competence development, improvement of business processes innovativeness, application of new organizational models of cooperation and partnership, results-benefits for an enterprise and its stakeholders); content and connection of basic categories and concepts of formation and realization of strategic potential of an enterprise, which extend the research field in accordance with the selected subject component of the strategic potential and its role in the processes of strategic management of enterprise development; systematization of strategic potential by its complement with subject-object sign through the identification of potential key actors involved in preparation and implementation of strategic decisions which are the source of interests, potential ideas, organizational expertise that gave the possibility to select managerial, partner, client, social types of strategic potential; methodical support of the formation of the strategic potential of an enterprise, which considers managerial competence as a key strategic capability of an enterprise and includes the process of selecting priority measures for development of partner and managerial potential; Degree of introduction: recommendations are implemented in practice activity of PJSC "U.P.E.C.", PJSC "FED"; The sphere of application: the process of strategic management of machine-building enterprises, educational process.
