Essay

Theoretically substantiated and proposed a new way to solve the actual intensive care problem - sedation of patients with alcohol withdrawal state with an intravenous dexmedetomidine, propofol and their combination infusion. Obtain new scientific data on predictors of severe alcohol withdrawal state in hospitalized patients.The first time we get the evidence of the plasma cortisol levels in patients with AWS and alcoholic delirium, its dynamics during treatment and depending on the chosen method of sedation. Also scientific evidence of post-traumatic stress disorder incidence after ICU treatment in AWS patients was updated. On the basis of new scientific data obtained in the study proved the concept and algorithm of patients with sedation as alcohol withdrawal delirium and alcohol, thus reducing the duration of treatment and the incidence of complications.
