Kostelna M. Designer's creativity of Ukrainian Fashion Houses mid XX - XXI centur: ethnic direction

The thesis is based on a wide range of archival and published sources and scientific literature generalizing a complex research of ehtno direction in the works of Fashion Houses' ukrainian designers mid XX-XXI century. The definitions: "clothing ethno design"; "Ethnic inspirations"; "Ethnic motives"; "Ethnic style"; "Ethnic direction" "Ethnic paradigms design school"; "Individual ethnic conceptions" are concretized. On the basis of design, semiotic and cultural approach the author proposed a separate explanation of differentiation within the ethnic style "national style" in broad and narrow sense "folk style" and "eco style". The preconditions of formation and content ethno paradigm Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Donetsk and design schools carried out their comparative analysis. On the basis of a systemization of a significant factological material there have been found semiotic, constructive, plastic, factural, decorative-semiotic, colouristical and technological pecularities of the interpretation of ethno traditions in the works of the leading designers of Ukrainian Fashion Houses in the mid-XX, beginning of XXI century. Also, the history of the Ukrainian Fashion Houses has been presented. The thesis also reveals the specific organization of the creative process in BM of sketching to production in terms of its impact on the formation of authoral ethno conceptions.
