The dissertation is the first in Ukraine monographic research specifically dedicated to the analysis of problems of criminal legal characteristics of causing grievous bodily harm by exceeding the limits of necessary defense. The thesis outlined the history of the law of murder and intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm by exceeding the limits of necessary defense, conducted a legal analysis of these offenses provided and described the legal nature of necessary defense and exceeding its limits.
