In the dissertation research, the analysis of personal publicistic style of M. Khvylovyi was carried out which is based on the provisions of cognitive theory of the metaphor. The conducted research made it possible to substantially correct the understanding of the peculiarities of the writer's world perception and outlook, define basic characteristics of the artistic reality he created, clarify the conceptual basics of his publicistic works, communicative specific character of their techniques, peculiarities of the metaphorics, and rhetorical figurativeness. In the dissertation found out was that a major part in the publicistic discourse plays the very author as a personality, as the understanding of information depends not only on its content, and form of presentation, but also on the authority of the submitter. Peculiarities of creating new language concepts are studied on the example of the polemic phrases created by M. Khvyliovyi. His connection with the context of the epoch is shown, therefore language means scoped to convince foes during polemics are studied (slogans-like phrases, rhetoric devices etc.). Factors innate and outer for language are studied in order to draw wholesome picture of development and functioning of personal style of M. Khvylovyi. Also features of functioning of recipient-oriented speech are revealed in the publicistic texts that were written by M. Khvyliovyi uring literary discussion of the 1920th. Individual author axiology is explicated.
