Shymkiv S. Accident insurance in system of social protection of citizens of Ukraine

The dissertation is devoted to elucidating the nature of accident insurance; indentifying its role in socio-economic processes leading to formation of a system of social protection of citizens; considering financial support for the system of accident insurance, which has to take into account financial priorities of the state, the interests of the subjects of the system of social insurance and private insurance companies. The research performs a comprehensive analysis of problems and trends in the domestic system of insurance against accidents. The study showed that the obstacles to further development of insurance against accidents are the insufficiently balanced approach to its organizational structure; the neglect of a synergistic effect induced by a combination of features of the state of social and non-governmental (private) insurance; the economically unjustified price for social insurance. The dissertation reveals global tendencies in development of the system of insurance against accidents and presents an innovative approach to reforming the system of insurance against accidents by developing publicprivate partnerships.
