Essay

The thesis is devoted to the study of the Ukrainian literature texts representing urban discourse of the beginning of the XXIst century (2000-2014). The transformation of the urban chronotope in accordance with the feelings and perceptions of the characters has been analyzed.It has been determined that globalization of the community and harmonization of moral and ethical standards form a person with a new type of consciousness - mass consumer who typologically resembles a social phenomenon of a "Soviet person". The process of neglecting archetype and mental code of the characters has been traced in the plots of the plays under analysis.
