Essay

The work is devoted to studying the relationship of vitamin D3 in the serum indicators of activity and progression of multiple sclerosis. The study presents a new approach to improve the efficiency of treatment in patients with multiple sclerosis considering indicators of vitamin D3 supply in terms of individual administrative regions (Vinnytsia region). The lowest levels of vitamin D in the blood serum was determined during the phase of exacerbation of multiple sclerosis and in patients with secondary-progressive type of the disease. In patients with multiple sclerosis found an inverse relationship between levels of vitamin D, sun exposure and the severity of fatigue. Results of the study demonstrated a decrease in the frequency of relapses of multiple sclerosis by 21,2% and the proportion of patients with disease activity neurovisualising 23,9% in cases of cholecalciferol, in addition to the treatment of immunomodulatory drugs. Combination treatment with vitamin D3 therapy, which modifies the disease, allowing significantly improve physical functioning, vitality and social activity in patients with multiple sclerosis, which was associated with lower levels of fatigue in these patien
