Essay

The thesis develops and adds to the theoretical and methodological foundations of regional structural and geographical research of ethnocultural landscapes. It analyses the process of the Polish community settling down in Podillia and managing its natural resources. It singles out the stages and time periods in which the exploration of Podillia by Poles was most productive. The thesis studies the ethnic and cultural landscapes of the towns and villages as a result of the Polish land management in Podillia. The other groups of landscapes of the Polish origin are characterized. The approaches and measures for the protection of ethnic and cultural heritage of Polish rural landscapes and towns are studied. The thesis examines the approaches to the formation of the regional landscape cadastre for monitoring the original Polish ethnic and cultural heritage.
