In the thesis on the basis of the research of history of formation and current state of the investigation of prevention in our country, considering the existing trends in economic crime, according to the results of a comprehensive study of the state of carrying out the preventive work of the investigative units of the National Police of Ukraine in the sphere of counteracting to economic crime their role in the system of crime prevention and its main directions is defined. The current state of economic crime in Ukraine is characterized, the criteria of the distinguishing of economic crimes from other types of crimes are defined.
