Essay

The thesis considers the types of incentives and corrective measures, as well as grounds and order of their administration. A particular emphasis is placed on the importance of investigation of the offender's personality. This investigation should be conducted during the whole period of service of sentence, taking into account the gravity of offence and adequacy of the corrective measures. Having performed a survey, it became possible to give criminal, criminological, and penal characteristics of the individuals deprived of liberty for the determined period.
