The dissertation is devoted to the research of essence, nature and purpose of private and public interests in the law. The author worked the historiographical, methodological and theoretical foundations of the study of the nature of private and public interests in the law. Based on the study of differential general and specific characteristics of private and public interests in the law clarified their definitions. Author of dissertation is proves that private and public interests substantially affect the content of the method of legal regulation. Characterized importance of coordination of private and public interests in the law as a factor of civil society.
