The Object is the novel of L. Gurevich "Ploskogore" (1897), the collection of her short stories ""Sedok" and other stories" (1904), novels and short stories, which were not included in it; drama "Smena" (1907)written by L. Gurevich; the book of Gurevich's literary-critical articles "Literature and Aesthetics" (1912) and literary critiques, reviews which were not included in it; methods are descriptive and analytical, historical and genetic, comparative typological, biographical and functional; novelty consists in the fact that the dissertation is the first monographic study of Gurevich's literary heritage; thematic and genre diversity of Gurevich's fiction is described in the context of the "female" literature of the late 19th - early 20th centuries; the problems and poetics of the novel "Ploskogore" (1897) have been comprehended; the role of the book "Literature and Aesthetics" (1912) in the development of aesthetic thought at the beginning of the 20th century has been identified; the peculiarity of literary and aesthetic positions of L. Gurevich has been analyzed, which manifested itself in the evaluation of the heritage of Russian classical and modern literature; the place of the writer's articles in the literary polemics of the time has been found out; both unpublished works of the writer and little-known archival materials on the history of the literature of the time have been analyzed and introduced into scientific circulation; the role of L. Gurevich's literary creativity in the history of the Russian literature of the late 19th - early 20th centuries has been identified; the results can be used while studying the history of Russian literature 19th - early 20th centuries in high school, in special courses and special seminars devoted to the works of Pushkin, Gogol, Tolstoy, Chekhov, Andreev, as well as in special courses on the history of Russian criticism, while preparing master works, further studying of Gurevich's literature activities; the branch (direction) is philology.
