Essay

The problem of linguistic view of the world is one of the key issues in modern linguistics. Language is not only the form of expression of a concept - cluster of culture, but also the fact of culture, because it is marked by ethno-cultural specificity of nation. Linguistic view of the world is verbalizated part of conceptual view of the world with her characteristic cultural connotation. The concept is verbalizated in linguistic view of the world. The concept is a language realized unit of cultural experiential knowledge of people that has a discrete structure, probabilistic and flexible volume limits, and serves as the processing, storage and transmission of cultural value information for each synchronical fragment of history. The dissertation is devoted to complex research of language means of representation of concept "faith" on the basis of cognitive lingvistics (structure of concept) and social cultural lingvistic approaches (interpretation of the nominative and associative field). During the description of the nominative field on the basis of analysis of verbalizators of concept "faith", used in over of 3000 different contexts, 564 derivates from the word faith and 591 idioms it was investigated the paradigmatical, the epidegmatical and the syntagmatical relations of the verbalizators. It was generalized the ethnic specific in the nominative field of faith and disbelief. Associative field was formed by associative reactions of 633 participants of sociolinguistic experiment, aged 10 to 85 years in the Ivano-Frankivsk, Vinnytsia, Kyiv and Zaporizhia regions. Due to interpretation of 12565 associative reactions of respondents the verbalization of concept "faith" in language word cartooon of our contemporaries was explored. The combination of the adjectives with faith revealed that belief is often associated with power. The combination of the pronouns with faith concluded the prevalence of social nature concept. The combination of the verbs with faith led to the extraction of differential cognitive features 'affair' and 'act of faith'. Most of all faith is not distributed separately to religious or secular sphere and belongs to them both. The offered model of analysis assists underlining of concept "faith" as cultural lingvistic constant of Ukrainian language consciousness. The basic differential cognitive features of the sacral part of belief are: 'God' and 'religion'; unbelief: 'lack of faith' and 'apostasy'. The basic differential cognitive features of the unsacral part of belief are: 'confidence', 'loyalty' and 'no doubt'; unbelief : 'distrust', 'doubt of the veracity', 'hopeless', 'vain hope'. Other differential cognitive features deals with structural models of the concept of "faith" with different degrees of urgency. The results can be the basis for the formation of nominative and associative fields, analysis and modelling of other concepts that will contribute to deepening the knowledge about the organization of linguistic view of the world and its relation to national consciousness and culture of the people. The information about the semantic content of the concept of "faith" may be involved in a comparative study of relevant concepts of different ethnic groups or to identify the specific semantic concept of "faith" in the writers' language in comparison with general language and social-specific semantic model. The materials of research may be needed at the compiling of the language-cultural concepts.
