Essay

The thesis provides scientific substantiation for theoretical and methodological approaches and practical recommendations on development of ecological monitoring of irrigated agricultural lands in Ukraine. It is proved that the principal condition for effective irrigated agricultural lands ecological monitoring system should be implementation of the Unified National Irrigated Lands Ecological Monitoring System founded on scientific and methodological basis of lands monitoring, soil monitoring, ecological and economic monitoring as the main source for basic, operational and long-term information obtaining for management decision-making support system. Methodological approach to complex ecological and economic assessment of irrigated agricultural lands according to the sanitary and hygienic condition of soil, agrochemical properties of soil fertility, as well as according to hydrogeological and ameliorative parameters, is refined. Scenarios of environmentally-oriented land utilization systems in the irrigated areas are developed and scientifically proved. The system of environmental restrictions, rules and regulations built in a hierarchical manner is advanced on the basis of ecological monitoring.
